Janna Hudson is a work-at-home military spouse. She is married to her very own Air Force hero, who rides a flashy motorcycle to work and flies an even fancier fighter jet for a living. She has four children, who leave her feeling inspired, overjoyed, overwhelmed and exhausted at the end of every day.

Professionally, Janna worked in advertising for a number of years before staying home with her children. Currently, she writes, paints and sews any time she gets the chance. She has written nearly a dozen picture books, two of which are published. She has also completed her first Women's Fiction novel, "Legacy: And Other Things Left Behind" which launches this November! Currently, Janna is working on a chapter book series and another picture book set to launch within the coming months.

Janna earned her degrees in Journalism, Spanish and Fine Art from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. After college, she worked as a newspaper graphic designer, a TV media sales representative and marketing coordinator at an advertising agency. A few years later, Janna was selected to illustrate a children's book of poetry written by Tracey Clinton titled "Tall Tall Tails." From then on, she knew her new goal was to be a published author/illustrator. In 2008, Janna was awarded a grant from the Arizona Commission on the Arts to participate in writing workshops provided by Arizona State University. Though she thought more of herself as a children's book author, Janna took a novel writing class taught by Mary-Rose Hayes. Mary-Rose was very encouraging and taught her a lot about crafting stories and characters.

From Arizona she moved to Italy, where she attended summer workshops at the International School of Illustration in Sarmede. It was here that she was taught by internationally renowned children's book authors/illustrators Svjetlan Juakovic, Chiara Carrer and Jindra Capek. This experience would prove to be one of the most rewarding things she has done in her persuit to be a published illustrator. Also, while in Italy, she donated her time and paintbrushes to the Aviano Community Theater's performance of "Hello, Dolly" and earned herself the 2011 "Topper Award" from  the U.S. Army Europe Tournament of Plays in reognition as the "Best Scenic Painting for a Musical."

Janna Hudson recently moved from Las Vegas, Nevada to North Yorkshire, England where she is actively writing, illustrating and publishing her stories. She also writes for Military Mom's Blog. You may contact her through any of the following methods:
